FM96 Presents: Rock The Park featuring Bryan Adams, Alan Doyle, and The Sheepdogs – July 13

RBC Rock the Park has announced its FINAL night of their 2024 festival series and has returned to its roots with a bang! Teaming up with London’s Best Rock, FM96, they present Saturday, July 13th, 2024 featuring the one and only, Bryan Adams alongside special guests Alan Doyle and The Sheepdogs.

Bryan Adams – Bryan Adams’ music has achieved #1 status in over 40 countries and is about to continue his tour of the USA in 2024. He has garnered many awards and accolades including 3 Academy Award nominations, 5 Golden Globe nominations, a Grammy award and multiple Canadian awards such as Companion of the Order of Canada and 18 Juno Awards among others. His most recent songs have been the peace song “What If There Were No Sides At All” and two songs from the recent Comedy Central film “Office Race”. Adams co-wrote all the music and lyrics for “Pretty Woman: The Musical” and has released of four albums in the past year, including the Grammy nominated “So Happy It Hurts” (Best Rock Performance), “Classic – Pt 1 and Pt 2” and his own versions of “Pretty Woman – The Musical”. Adams is releasing three new albums “Live from the Royal Albert Hall” making it a total of 7 albums in two years, and there is more to come! Adams will be playing live concerts in the USA, UK, Europe, and Canada all in 2024.

Alan Doyle –  Expect the unexpected from Welcome Home, Alan Doyle’s fourth full-length solo studio album and 20th overall. While upholding his status as a perennial merrymaker — a reputation burnished by his years with acclaimed folk-pop combo Great Big Sea — the new album also finds the multifaceted singer- songwriter and 14-time JUNO Award nominee exploring novel sonic terrain. Alongside marquee co-writers Jimmy Rankin, Donovan Woods, and Hollywood actor Oscar Isaac (yep, of Star Wars fame), Doyle presents nine original songs that are both typically buoyant and surprisingly intimate, what Doyle refers to as “the lower and slower: the lower part of my vocal range and the slower songs. I’m letting myself do that for the first time on this record,” which he cut in Montreal with producer-engineer Marcus Paquin. Doyle’s CV is extensive — he is a thrice-published author, a film and TV actor-producer with multiple major credits, and the co-producer of the recently released, 20-song Ron Hynes tribute album, Sonny Don’t Go Away. Yet the wildly popular musician from Petty Harbour, Newfoundland remains most electrifying before a live audience, abetted by his ace band. “I am the luckiest guy in the world,” Doyle says. “It’s such a privilege to stand among those players on stage.”

The SheepdogsBuilt on the solid, classic rock foundation of three-part harmonies and dual guitar leads, Canada’s Juno Award-winning Sheepdogs blend Southern rock, groove-based psychedelia, and bluesy barroom swagger into a modern rock & roll revival. Emerging in 2004, the band found mainstream success in 2010 with the release of their platinum-selling third LP, Learn & Burn, and continued to top the Canadian charts with efforts like The Sheepdogs (2012), Future Nostalgia (2015), Changing Colours (2018), and Outta Sight (2022).

Hailing from the Saskatchewan city of Saskatoon, the band features the talents of Ewan Currie (vocals, guitar), Ryan Gullen (bass), Sam Corbett (drums), Shamus Currie (keyboard/trombone) and Rick Paquette (guitar). From Canadian roadhouses to global music festivals, their on-stage and on-road hours are countless, underscoring their endurance in the music scene. The release of Future Nostalgia and Changing Colours further enriched their discography, leading up to the 2022 release of the jubilant hook-filled Outta Sight, solidifying their impact in the rock domain.

Most recently, their singles from Outta Sight spent a cumulative 90 weeks with at least 1 song in the top 20 at Canadian Rock radio. Prior, their hit singles “I Don’t Know” and “Feeling Good” both reached Platinum certification, with “The Way It Is” achieving Gold sales. Additionally, the albums Learn & Burn and The Sheepdogs both achieved Platinum status, and to date the band has been nominated for 11 JUNO awards, winning four..
