Meet English Teacher, a four-piece from Leeds (est. 2020) that would fit nicely on a bill with Wet Leg, Dry Cleaning, Savages, Pip Blom, and similar buzzy indie bands from the UK and the continent.
Born as a bedroom demo in 2018, The World’s Biggest Paving Slab (how’s that for a title?) has been re-recorded and given a proper release. There are elements of dream pop here, but then this song is also riffy and chunky. If you’re interested in more, there’s a 2022 EP entitled Polyawkward.
